Nikon FM2N on the Street

Here are the results of the test shooting of my Nikon FM2N, which is my first Nikon camera, and Voigtlander NOKTON 58mm F1.4 SLII (Nikon AIS), which are both new. Nikon is night on eBay, which was listed as new that comes with the original box and manual.

The lens I used on the camera was Voigtlander NOKTON 58mm F1.4 SLII (Nikon AIS), which is not a brand new design but based on the Voigtlander Topcor 58mm f/1.4 SL which was released in very limited quantities (1600 units) back in 2003. I love the lens at first sight for its solid metal feel and smooth focus. The lens is not exactly a sharp lens but it has awesome bokeh and rendering of colors.

The time I shot this series  was in thr early evening so the big aperture came in handy just perfectly for low light conditions. I had some shots taken at very slow speeds but most them turned out to be OK. Still I need to improve my stability holding the camera in poor lighting situation since it is always inconvenient using a tripod shooting on the street.

I am very happy with the colors of Fujicolor Superia X-TRA 400 though it is commonly said to be the kind of film for capturing daily events. I find it such a pleasant thing not to have to post-edit images and only have to enjoy the results, in terms of colors, lighting and tonality.
